Last Friday, Year 4 were treated to a visit by award winning author Hannah Durkan. Hannah’s debut novel ‘Zeina Starborn and the Sky Whale’ is a fantasy story full of adventure, explorers, inventors and sky whales.
Hannah told us that she actually found spelling difficult at school and was always getting in trouble about her handwriting. However, with resilience and courage she achieved her dream of becoming an author.
During the session, she shared with us her inspirations behind her story and she helped the children create their own fantasy story titles. Hannah also signed copies of her book and many of the children couldn’t wait to get started!
Hannah left with Mrs Graham some signed book plates to be stuck in the front of her book if any children didn’t get a chance to get a copy signed on the day.
A fantastic inspirational morning, thank you Hannah for coming to Archibald and good luck for the release of the sequel ‘Zeina Starborn and the Emerald King’ out in July!
