On Tuesday Year 1 had a visit from a fire fighter. He taught us how to be safe with lots of rhymes and songs. We practiced what to do when the smoke alarm goes off in our homes. We looked at objects in our homes which might get hot. Some children were able to try on pieces of the fire fighters kit. We got stickers, a booklet to take home and a class certificate to show that we are Junior Fire Safety Officers. We asked lots of really good questions and heard lots about Spencer, the fire dog.
