Year 1 went on an amazing trip to Alnwick Castle on 3oth April. After a long bus journey, we arrived! The children were amazed by the castle. We had opportunities to explore life in the past by making soap and tiles ( which we painted when we returned to school). We travelled back in time with Shaun to meet a servant who told us all about Harry Hotspur. We each made our own pennant ( flag) too. In the afternoon we explored the castle and only the braviest entered the Dragon’s Quest. ( Sorry no photos- Miss Bradley was too scared!) We also did some observational drawings of the castle. We then used charcoal to add shading and texture. The feedback from the children and parents has been great. This trip was enjoyed by everyone, even the teachers!
