As part of our Book Week celebrations at Archibald, Year 4 had a visit from the author, Lewis Mates. Lewis gave a talk to the children about his love of reading and writing as a child and his journey to becoming a published author. We had the opportunity to ask Lewis lots of questions and these are some of things that we found out!
- Lewis’ favourite book as a child was The Vikings (this book caught his imagination and made him feel like he was actually there at that point in history)
- his favourite genre is history
- his favourite author is George Orwell
- he has written two books and intends to write a third
We felt very inspired by Lewis’ visit and we have many budding authors in Year 4 that may follow in his footsteps! Thank you Lewis and good luck with the next book.
