Christmas has just begun but Early Years are already showing off all our values of being creative, caring, courageous and curious.
We invited our grown-ups to join us for Stay and Play. We were so creative in our sessions. We did lots of lovely crafts that helped our fine motor such as colouring decorations, decorating trees with stickers and loose parts, cutting snowflakes and making handprint reindeers. We also went on an elf hunt.
On Friday we finished a wonderful week with our Christmas Extravaganza! We invited Rob from ZooLab to come and tell us a story all about the last present. We were slimed by Shelly, the giant African land snail. Then we were tickled by Maverick, the millipede. Then we took a look at Tilly the tarantula. We stroked William the python and then finished by meeting Lily and Harriet, the rats. Harriet impressed us with her trick! We were so courageous, touching and holding the animals.
In the afternoon, we heard jingling bells in Forest School and went to investigate. We were amazed to meet Santa. He shared a story about the Christmas eve he got the sneezes! We sang him some of our favourite songs and he answered some of our questions, showing him how curious we were about the world!
We had a delicious snack and juice and made some reindeer food too with biodegradable glitter to make sure we were caring about our world and the animals in it.
What a start to our celebrations with even more to come!
