Hello to wonderful Year 3!
We hope you’re all well and being kind, considerate and helpful at home. We’ve missed seeing all your friendly smiling faces and listening to all your stories, latest news and generally just making us laugh, in the only way Year 3 can! We simply must make sure we all keep making others smile, in the same way you made us all smile for… SPIN… THE… WHEEL!
The important words for this week are:
THOUGHTFUL
CREATIVE
CONSIDERATE
How can you show someone in your family one of these traits? Let us know through Twitter or the Facebook page. We really do love knowing what you have been up to!
TOPIC/LITERACY
We’ve also been beavering away, thinking about our topic this half term. We were really getting into the Greek Myths and discussing the range of heroes, monsters, weapons, quests and monsters used! This website is really good at is lets you be CREATIVE and create your own Greek Myth or perhaps there is a Greek Myth you want to read by yourself?
Create your own Myths or Legends Some of the myths and legends featured on this site are very old and may contain words you are not familiar with. A word may also have a different… myths.e2bn.org |
ART
If you’re feeling. more creative, why not try and draw your very own Minotaur? Here’s a You Tube video to follow or you could come up with your own…
MATHS
The White Rose Maths Home Learning Tutorials are really good as they show you how to access the different lessons each week.

SCIENCE
Here is fun activity where you can make your very own paper horse that walks! Why might we want to make a paper horse? Well there is a Greek myth that involves a very famous Trojan Horse. Maybe you could try and find out all about that Trojan Horse and why it was so special?
Just remember that science is all around us every day! We’ve been closely following Twitter and sharing ideas with other schools/organisations.
Why not try one of these thought provoking questions?
The Nisbet Household!
We’ve been quite creative. Thea decided to turn one of our boxes into a boat and paint it. There were also lots of handprints, which we turned into dinosaurs. Lauren and Isla have been completing acrylic painting challenges on you tube. Mummy has been washing
up a lot of paintbrushes!
Animals
Mrs Johnston lent us a tiger costume for World Book Day so we decided to use I Movie to create our own Suspense Adventure Video. Who do you think is the scariest tiger? We then looked at google animals in 3D and experimented with animals in our house! Lauren is now trying to write her own story about animals… she’s been reading Zoe’s Secret Zoo! Isla has been listening to an audible book with her new earphones! Which books have you been reading?
The Morrow Household!
It has been a very exciting time for The Morrow Household! Baby Morrow arrived safely on 10th March and he has been keeping us very entertained indeed! His name is Jacob and can you guess what he spends his day doing? That’s right! He does a lot of eating, sleeping and crying! He really is a very happy baby. If you look at the photos you can see his favourite book, his favourite bath toy and his play mat. You will also notice a nappy because that’s what I spend a lot of my time changing! I wonder what books you have been reading and whether you have any tips for looking after a baby?
Finally, here’s an act of kindness from the Nisbet Household…
We really hope you are having fun at home and we are sure that you are all being absolutely amazing!
From The Year 3 Team!
