This afternoon Year 2 watched the tale of the Gingerbread Man and decided that he needed a boat to get across the river safely.
Using our knowledge of materials and their absorbency, we decided that foil was the best material for the job because of its ability to be moulded into different shapes, and of course that it is waterproof!
We set to work in pairs and designed different boats that we thought would work. The children had great ideas about curved bases and high sides to stop the Gingerbread Man from falling out!
Have a look at some of our successful designs and proud faces!
