What an action packed half term we have had! We have been to the Hancock Museum, made cushions as part of our DT and also had lots of fun at the Adventure Playpark as well as all of the learning in school. We really have shown the qualities of being caring, courageous, curious and caring!
ART AND DT
In Art we answered the question of what is Art and recapped some of the skills that we have learnt in previous. As for DT, we made our very own cushions! We had to learn the skills first such as cross stitch, applique and reverse applique. Some of us even added beads and other accessories to our cushions.
Geography
As part of our topic ‘How can I make a difference to Gosforth?’, we have thoroughly enjoyed going out into the community of Gosforth and helping the local people who live there. Some of us helped sell bricks in the Gosforth Shopping centre to raise money for the new equipment that will be used in the adventure playground. Also, we had a trip to Gosforth Park to help identify the roles that the volunteers do and the wonderful job that they have of keeping Gosforth Park tidy and ready for the public.
Hancock Museum and Adventure Playpark!
One of our other trips was to Hancock Museum to investigate different skeletons. We also had time to have a little wander around to have a sneak peek at some of the historical artefacts that the museum has to offer. This may come in handy for our next topic of The Stone Age!
As well as the museum, we also had an exciting trip to the adventure playground.
