Year 2 had a “muy excelente” Spanish day. In the afternoon we tasted some Spanish food. Before we did any eating we had to make some scrumptious paella. The first thing we put in was some oil and then we added vegetables like peas, peppers, garlic and onion. Then we put in the rice and added some saffron. The saffron is special because it was red but it actually turned the rice a golden yellow!
We also tasted some chorizo, patatas bravas, rice pudding, manchego cheese and olives. We had a vote and chorizo got the most votes in class 5 and class 6.
After we sat on the carpet and had big smiles on our faces and gave a big thumbs up for Spanish food.
Year 2 also had a visitor who taught us how to say the colours in Spanish to the tune of Three Blind Mice. The next part was learning the dance moves for each colour! Finally we did some actions as part of a game that involved numbers.
It was a perfect day and the best Spanish day ever!
