As part orf Reception’s transition into Year 1, the children in both Year 1 and Reception have been taking part in Circus activities. We had a visit from Marty and Emma from Circurama. They showed off their amazing talents in an assembly and then taught us how to do some of their skills, including balancing a peacock feather on your nose. We learnt to juggle with scarves and used flowers sticks and diablos too.
For the rest of the week the children got to go into Year 1 classes, Early Years and the hall to do a number of Circus activities. They included circus foods, more circus skills, animal masks and clown faces. These activities have given the Reception children a chance to visit their new classrooms. The Year 1 children have been so grown up, showing the Reception children what to do and telling them all about Year 1.
