Before half term, all the Reception and Year 1 children took part in transition week.
This was a such a fun week in which the children moved between both Year 1 classes, the hall and Early Years to enjoy lots of fun activities. The activities were based on 4 books;
- Not a Box
- Beautiful Oops
- The Dot
- I Can Be Anything!
All the children were completely mixed up and put into 4 groups which allowed the Reception children opportunities to ask questions about Year 1. The Year 1 children were fantastic and helping and supporting the younger ones during their activities, too. Thank you, Year 1!
We all feel that it was a hugely successful week which the children seemed to thoroughly enjoy. The Reception children were able to experience what will become their new classrooms and meet the Year 1 team.
Over this half term we will continue to work with the Reception children, discussing their excitement and any worries about Year 1.
