In the last week of Autumn 1, the whole school enjoyed a creative week all based around one book.
That book was Door by JiHyeon Lee, chosen by our new Art Ambassadors.
All the children’s learning that week was inspired by this book. The children enjoyed lots of art work; we had colour mixing on umbrellas, applying tones and shades on birds and lots of printing. Some year groups made food inspired by the wedding breakfast within the story and lots of classes were inspired by the beautiful worlds depicted in the pictures and produced fabulous creative writing based on these. We designed and created hot air balloons, made our own doors and a giant, mysterious key even turned up in Early Years! Year 2 children also really enjoyed using the green screen to transport themselves through their own magical doors.
The children all had a wonderful week and their teacher’s were all blown away by their creativity and enthusiasm. If you are in school, check out our AMAZING work on display around the lower hall.
