School Led Tutoring
In 2021-2022, School-Led Tutoring became one part of the National Tutoring Programme (NTP). Eligible state-funded schools received a ring-fenced grant to source their own tutoring provision for disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils who have missed the most education due to COVID-19.

2021-2022
The grant for the 2021 to 2022 school year covered 75% of the cost of tuition up to an £18 per pupil, per hour, unit cost. Schools had the flexibility to manage their own allocation and pay above or below this figure, where necessary, but in all cases needed to contribute 25% of the cost.
2022-2023
In the academic year 2022 to 2023 schools will be provided with a grant to cover 60% of the £18 unit cost.
2023-24
In the academic year 2023 to 2024 the grant provided will cover 50% of the £18 unit cost.
Schools and academy trusts will need to factor in increasing contributions to school-led tutoring from other budget sources such as pupil premium funding over the 3 years.
