Artsmark
Our school has achieved Artsmark status. This is a nationally recognised award which shows we demonstrate excellence in arts and cultural provision. In October 2022, we were awarded Artsmark Gold! We are currently in the process of going for gold once again...
Character Education
We are currently working towards our final submission for the official Character Education Award.
Eco Award
We achieved the Eco Schools Bronze Award after showing our commitment to caring for the environment. We were awarded the Silver Award for our action planning for looking after the world around us.
Green Flag Award
We have proudly held our Green Flag award for 11 years with our latest reaccreditation in July 2023.
Healthy Schools Award
In 2024 we renewed our Healthy School award for the seventh time. This means we have officially been a healthy school for over fourteen years!!!
Inclusion Quality Framework
In November 2023, we were awarded the Inclusion Quality Framework Mark after a robust quality assurance process through the Local Authority.
International School
We are an International School. This shows that we have an international ethos in our school and that we explore, through our curriculum, how we can have an impact on the world. We have maintained this award for 12 years, most recently being reaccredited in July 2024.
Mental Health Award
Our Mental health and Wellbeing team are currently working towards our submission for this award to recognise the work we do in our school and our community.
Music Mark
Our Newcastle Music Service have nominated Archibald to be a Music Mark school. This award recognises our music offer at Archibald First School.
National Online Safety
Our school community has successfully completed a comprehensive online safety training programme demonstrating our commitment to keeping children and young people safe online. We have received a National Online Safety Certified School Accreditation for its whole community approach to protecting children in the online world.
OPAL Award
In February 2024, we were awarded the OPAL Platinum Award for our Outdoor Play and Learning provision.
Primary Science Quality Mark
In September 2018 and September 2022, we were awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark at the highest level – Gilt.
School Games Mark
School was awarded the School Games Mark Platinum in 23/24 as recognition for our PE offer. We have achieved Gold in the academic years 22/23, 21/22, 18/19, 17/18 and Silver in the school year 16/17.
School of Sanctuary
We are a School of Sanctuary and, as of September 2024, our school was officially awarded the School of Sanctuary Award. We are incredibly proud of this accolade and our welcoming school.
A School of Sanctuary is a school that is committed to being safe and welcoming to all, especially those seeking sanctuary. This includes people whose lives were in danger in their own country, who have troubles at home or are just looking for a space of safety. A School of Sanctuary is a school which helps its pupils, staff and wider community to understand what it means to be seeking sanctuary and to extend a welcome to everyone as equal, valued members of the school community. It is a place for all to feel safe, seen, supported and included.
