Archibald Experience
At Archibald First School we want all of our children to take part enriching experiences, visits and visitors linked to their learning. We want all of our children to experience the cultural offer of the North East and to explore the different areas of our locality.
We believe that school should not just be about strong academic progress for our children, but also developing our children in to well-rounded and confident young people who are ready to thrive as they move to middle school to start the next phase of their education.
Our Archibald Experience is what every child at our school can expect to experience as they navigate through our school. Children will experience rich cultural activities, visits and visitors, develop pride in representing our school and community and discover their own interests.
We hope that each of our children as they leave year 4 will have had the opportunity to:
enjoy a live theatre show | appraise an art gallery | play a musical instrument | learn to ride a bike |
take part in swimming lessons | perform a show in front of the school and their parents & carers | visit places of worship from a variety of different faiths |
be inspired by others in a variety of careers |
visit the beach | learn a modern foreign language | take part in forest school | travel on the metro |
explore a local museum | go on a school residential | know how to look after our world | visit the local library |
compete in events | meet farmyard animals | work with local artists |
