PE/OUTDOORS

Remember to keep exercising and enjoying the lovely weather! Hopefully, it will stay for a little while longer!

  • Mr Nettleship went to the field yesterday and practised his long range passing in football as he needed to work on this.
  • This week, your aim is to pick a sport that you love and play and practise a key skill. This could be your hand-eye coordination in tennis or simple throwing and catching – the choice is yours!
  • Here are some examples with videos and web links:
  • Football- this video has a range of skills that you could practise. You do not have to do them all – here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ERmmge-8GM
  • Cricket- If you have access to cricket equipment, practise your batting and bowling technique. If not, you can practise your throwing and catching – here is a link for some drills. https://www.sportplan.net/drills/Cricket/drills.jsp However, you will have to adapt them so that it is best suited to you. This may mean changing the equipment or the number of people in the drill.
  • Gymnastics/Dance– Have a look at the athletes on YouTube from some of the recent Olympic Games (London 2012, Rio 2016). Could you practise some of the rolls that they do? Here is a link to some exercises that will improve your gymnastics: https://www.british-gymnastics.org/documents/clubs-schools-and-leisure-centres/covid-19/activities-at-home/11258-gymfit-gymnastics-at-home-beginner-1/file
  • Remember, these are just examples. Any exercise at all is great and will help to keep you fit, active and healthy!

Topic Tasks

  • Over the past few weeks, you have researched information about the Victorians. Can you create a multiple choice quiz based on the Victorian period? Try and include lots of different aspects e.g. inventions, famous people, jobs, workhouses, schools etc. Think carefully about the layout and consider how you will organise your work. Finally, see if your grown ups can answer the questions – do they know as much as you do, about the Victorians?!

  • Alternatively, choose from one of the tasks from the grid below.
