In year 2 we love to work scientifically and since we have been finding out about plants we decided to have an investigation! We wanted to find out the length of the longest and shortest leaf in our local area.
All the boys and girls collected leaves from our school yard, the park or on the streets nearby our school.
Then we used our measuring skills to find the length of the longest and shortest leaf. Can you guess how long they were? If you thought the the longest leaf was 19cm then you were right! As for the shortest leaf it was only 3cm.
A scientific discovery we made was that most of the leaves in our local area are between 9cm and 12cm.
